Please join us at the BURTON flagship store in Soho for an evening of creative expression and youth empowerment. Three organizations that create positive impact for the youth of New York City are joining forces in an event about movement, marks of expression and making turns. On Sept 7th Everybody Dance Now, Thrive Collective and The Chill Foundation will host an event with live urban dance performances and a participatory mural art project. Each organization will represent the unique way they contribute to a positive youth culture in NYC and how these communities overlap. Must RSVP to attend.
Enjoy up to 40% Off  Winter Burton product for the evening and take part in the festivities. Please read below to find out more about each organization and consider donating by clicking on the individual links in each bio. This event is kid friendly and we encourage you to invite your friends and family by sending out the invite, posting on your social media and encouraging guests to RSVP to attend.
CHILL is a youth development program that revolves around a six-week curriculum that uses boardsports to teach life skills and increase self-esteem in participants. Using six weekly themes: patience, persistence, responsibility, courage, respect, and pride, they provide a framework for learning and personal growth. They use the time getting ready to introduce the weekly themes through an activity, and reinforce the concept during the time on a board. This structure allows participants to make meaningful connections to the curriculum while experiencing the joy of riding on a board.
Everybody Dance Now! is a nonprofit organization that provides weekly hip hop and street dance programming to young people throughout the country who would otherwise not have access to such opportunities. We are dedicated not only to inspiring our students through positive outlets that promote healthy and active lives, but also to empowering our young leaders as agents of social change.
"Our programs connect artists and youth workers with local schools as teaching artists, art directors, and mentors. Project based learning and accredited curriculum integrate life and art skills in four kinds of experiences: in-school electives, after school clubs, seasonal intensives, and weekend warriors. We are a licensed DOE, DYCD, and DCA vendor."
